What Motivates Me?

Two weeks in, study is not so hard, but money is. It is at times like these that I wonder why?

Why did I give up a mediocre job with limited or no prospects? Why did I give up on an industry that had chucked me into the trash basket the day I turned 40? Why had I given up trying to please people who paid little, wanted everything (preferably yesterday) and who had no concept of gratitude? I guess I'll never know.

What I do know is that one day I woke up and "knew" that chucking it in and going to university was the right path for me. All I needed was the courage to take the plunge. Luckily for me a colleague had mentioned a few days earlier that successful people don't get hung up on details. They act first, and tackle the obstacles as they come. That was the missing ingredient, and once I realised that, I found that returning to uni was an option, not a pipe dream.

So here I am, trying to learn 2 languages, and enjoying it.

Take care all.

Taking the Plunge

Well, after a 30 year sabbatical I decided to take the plunge and return to University. It is a harrowing time, I can tell you. Giving up any semblance of job security to pursue a degree that I should have got a quarter of a century ago! I hope all goes well, and I will keep you posted. I will be juggling life as a parent with some type of part time employment while trying to keep my other sites up to date, I just hope I can manage.
